These are top 10 smartest dogs, made by Kennel Clubs, many dog trainers and dog masters, based on how many repetitions it took for a certain breed to master a new command. The breeds on our list took at least 5 repetitions or less to learn a new command, and tended to obey first commands more than 95 per cent of the time

I have a border collie, Jonesy! He may not be the smartest dog ever, but he is the best dog to me! He has a herding job… well not with animals… well, sort of animals… the six kids in my family!

this list wasn’t originally created by the any kennel club, it was first proposed by psychologist Stanley Coren in his book “The Intelligence of Dogs”. Look it up, and from now on cite him instead. I’m sure the kennel club your referring to cites him.

this list was made by Kennel Club, an official international dog breed organization, the list was based on how many repetitions it took for a certain dog breed to master a new command and their nature. of course this list is subjective, it still depends on the master. i just made it into a video

seems to me like these are all very biased opinions. who’s this guy anyway and why are these dogs so similar? the only dog i ever had was a pekingese and i thought she was pretty smart too. seems like each dog’s logic depends on it’s master and they all have the same capacity for learning.
10. November 2009 at 14:57
Yeah, it’s a watch dog, not a guard dog.
10. November 2009 at 15:41
you claiming your ovcharkas are smarter than another breed JUST because you own one doesn’t make it true. Your ovcharkas are more stubborn and have been found not to memorize as many or learn as easily the commands needed for them to be at the top of the list. Sorry chump, but your personal favor isn’t going to win the arguement. Results are.

I have 2 pit bulls, a doberman, and a great dane.
My doberman is kind of retarded. The pit bulls are EXTREMELY smart. and my great dane is an idiot, but I love her anyway xD
