Please can someone help me. I have a 7 month yr. old Siberian Husky that i raised ever since he was a pup. I cant get rid of him he’s like my son. Unfortunately my landlord is giving me 3 day’s to get rid of him. I’m willing to move to a new place just to keep him. Does anyone know of a place where you can pay a fee and they can take care of your dog for at least 2 weeks to a month? Please, or does anyone know any cheep apartments in Los Angeles where you can have a dog?

Please it would me alot, thank you guy’s.

They have kennels where you can leave your dog if you go on vacation. Check with them.

ask a friend.a family member..and even a vet…….tell him you’ll pay him, but that its an emergency…if he studied to be a vet, its because he loves animals…..just try it out

  3. casandra x Says:

Let a very close friend of yours watch out for the dog.
File a complaint on the landlord….leave if he still doesn’t want that dog in there.

talk to your landlord, im sure his mind isnt going to change and you cant really blame him even when im a dog lover but I do know there is places you can take your dog and they will take care of him but its costy..

    the glue factory

Check local kennels. Oh Cesar Milan lives there too.

  7. Lisa Says:

You might check out http://www.losangeles.craigslist.org or http://www.movingwithpets.com/index.php/default/Y for pet-friendly housing.

Until you can find a pet-friendly apartment, you can board him. Google “Boarding Kennel in Los Angeles” to find one near you, or call your vet’s office.

  8. ♥Cristina♥ Says:

You could try a kennel in the phone book. Or even vets keep dogs or awhile.

Call your vet they KNOW what to do and who to call, even if you dont have one you can just call any vet.
Dont worry, LA is a pretty populous area, theres a kennel somewhere.

  9. alfieboy Says:

dude, take him to pet hotel by petco! they are not expensive at all.

  10. Groomer Jan Says:

Most boarding kennels give you a cheaper rate if it is on a monthly basis. Ask.

  11. elmerfud Says:

Does it prohibit pets in your lease?, has the dog done something to anger the landlord? If not, get a lawyer…….######

  12. Amber R Says:

Does your landlord allow you to keep cats in your place? If so you can tell him it is illegal for him to discriminate against your dog…well thats what my business law teacher told me last year.

  13. therustedknight Says:

    Boarding kennel
Check with your vet office, they may recommend one

  14. Madison Says:

Vets will board the dog until you find a new apartment. Call around to find the cheapest prices and usually you can work a deal with them to lower the price if you board him for longer (which you will be since it’ll take a couple of weeks to find a new apartment). Most apartments will let you pay a “pet fee” and you can have the animal so call around to every apartment complex possible to find one.

  15. git r done Says:

any vet office will put your dog up for a couple of weeks i’m sure.

  16. dragonfly_3 Says:

it sounds like you didn’t read your lease when you got the dog.

  17. primadona61 Says:

If this condition isn’t listed on your lease, your landlord can’t threaten you about this. You have the right to keep your puppy. You can even get help from the government with this. Check out the department of housing for your rights!

ART, CALL YOUR LOCAL HUMANE SOCIETY, THEY COULD POINT YOU IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION, GOOD LUCK, I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL, I HAVE 6 DOGS, AND 3 CATS, AND THEY ARE LIKE FAMILY TO ME…..

  19. gimpalomg Says:

Check the local yellow pages for “Boarding and Kennels”. People board there dogs all the time. Single professionals on business trips, families on vacation, or someone whose landlord changes the rule.

Good luck. I wish I lived in Los Angeles, I would put the guy up myself for a couple of weeks.

  20. Emily F Says:

This is probably a boring, unhelpfulish answer, but I suggest looking through a phone book or newspaper. Also, google ‘Los Angeles dog kennel/boarding’ and you’ll get plenty of results. They’re usually quite expensive, though.

  21. gringo4541 Says:

There are commercial boarding kennels and many Vets board dogs. You just need to check your phone book.

  22. Morgan M Says:

If you’ve had your pet for 7 months in this rental then you must have an agreement about the pet? Unless something happened to breach your pet agreement I don’t think your LL can just demand you get rid of the pet. If this is the case tell the LL he must keep his end of the agreement, and you can plan to find a new place at the end of the rental agreement term. If, on the other hand, you don’t have a pet agreement with your LL you can try your local Siberian husky club or rescue. Share your predicament with them and they may have foster home lists available for you.

  23. maxmom Says:

Contact your local rescue groups and the humane society. They may have foster home volunteers that can help you.

    Good luck.

p.s. are you sure it is legal for your landlord to do this? If you have had the dog for 4-5 months, why is it just now a problem?

  24. rockydog3 Says:

oh my gosh! that is so sad… personally, i am absolutely in love with siberian huskies, and i would be willing to watch him for you… except i line in AZ
    that is so sad
and i dont think you would be willign to move to AZ
how ols is you dog again? hope you find a place! check with local kennels in the area
truthfully i love siberian huskies so much, i would pay someone to let me watch one
please email me and let me know what you do! i would love to know!
    best of luck!

  25. Kiki B Says:

they have dog daycare down here in South Orange County, costs about 35 to 40 a day for over nighters, if all else fails, check down here or email me for their names.

  26. kj Says:

Go to the Los Angeles biggest newspaper online site and look for apartment rental classifieds. Many apartment landlords ask for a pet deposit, but some don’t allow pets. You should have been told that before you moved in You might find that you can rent a small house somewhere instead which would have a back yard for your dog. In the meantime there are dog boarding facilities. Check your local yellow pages under dog boarding.

  27. lablover2 Says:

Did you just change landlord’s and this one said you may not have a pet? If so then most new management let the owner keep the pet from a prior lease.
A landlord can’t just throw a person out on the street without first taking you to court. I lived in an apartment complex for 3 years and people get evicted all the time. They usually give a person 30 days to move after they go to court. Do you have free legal services in your state ? If so I would call them and explain your situation. The court has the final say not the landlord.
If you got the dog without your landlord’s permission that is different.
Do you have any good friends who would be willing to keep the dog until you find a different apartment? This could save you some money from having to board it.
    Good luck

  28. bully4me Says:

Did you sneak this pup into your home knowing that it was against the regulations in your building??? That might be just cause for your landlord to ask you to move. However, I don’t think he can evict you in 3 days, I believe it takes more notice than three days.

Go to the yellow pages and look up Legal Aid in your city/county; and ask them to direct you to someone who can help you. And yes, there are lots of kennels in LA that will board your dog until you can find appropriate housing. You may even want to go on line and find a Siberian Husky rescue group. Maybe they can help. Good luck.
