  1. helen h Says:

they are in uk charged with manslaughter

  2. The Dalia Says:

    yep

  3. sorrowlaughed25 Says:

They should be charged w/ cruelty to an animal, premeditated assault, and negligence to an animal for all of the dogs it fought w/.

  4. Jennifer Says:

I think it is inhumane to train a dog to fight like that. It is abuse and should be dealt with strongly. The owners should not allowed to have or own dogs.

  5. dobiegang Says:

I do !!!! That is so right. This deserves a star.

  6. DP Says:

YES, most definitely! If the dog escapes and attacks, the dog is not under proper care and control, if the dog attacks anyone at all.. Assalt with a deadly weapon for sure! They know it’s been trained to kill, they should keep them under control.. Muzzled, or kept away from people entirely.

  7. Kcr Says:

you should read the book “red zone” it’s based on a true story!!

  8. Billy Says:

interesting proposal, although i think its a little weird trying to categorize a dog as a weapon

sure, it can attack, but you are going to have to rewrite the penal code on this one; besides i dont think its right to objectify a dog as an object

but anyhow, i disagree, although of course, offenders should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law

  9. greyskymourning82 Says:

    Yes definitely!

I think that people that train dogs to fight should be locked up in prison as if the person did the assault.

Extra years should be added on to the sentence because the person trained the dog to fight and kill. The poor animal is killed for something an idiot human taught him to do.

The person should have more extra years added on to the above as in five years for every dog he has.

I actually think anyone that abuses or molests a child or an animal in any way at all should be hung until dead in the middle of the street……..Our jails/prisons are overcrowded. We need some action that would make people sit up and take notice……..

  11. sauciewench Says:

Yes and I think they suck. Pit bulls have a bad enough reputation, they are good dogs and anyone who trains them to fight ought to go to jail. For-evah

  12. Jenifer R Says:

I feel they should be charged with that at the very least! My American Bulldog was trained to fight you’ll never understand the pain these dogs go through unless you see their recovery first hand. Those people are ignorant and they make me sick!

  13. hotboriqua14 Says:

I don’t think people should train a dog to fight because in the end the dog gets hurt and it’s also illegal.they have a trainig colar. It always work for me! you could also buy a The Gentle Spray Citronella Anti-Bark Collar uses pantented technology to deliver a harmless burst. Those people are rude and very ignorant.they are also so stupid.

  14. Earthling Says:

I agree with SorrowLaughed25. Thats a BEST ANSWER!! Good question, it deserves a star.

  15. greekman Says:

A dog that has been “trained” as you put it, to fight other dogs, will not be human aggressive and will not challenge a human, only other dogs. You cannot have a human aggressive dog in the fighting pit. The handler needs to be able to get in there and pull his dog off, without getting bitten. A dog that has been traineddd to engage humans is another story. There should be laws against an idiot letting his dog bite someone for no reason and I also believe that the person who traine that dog so irresponsibly, also needs to be charged. A properly traine dog will only bite in the defense of the handler and when told to, period. I have trained every dog that I have ever owned in 27 years to formally engage a human without ever any accidental bites whatsoever. You just need to be responsible for your actions and training.

ADD: Finally, we get to hear from someone who knows about the breed. Thank you so much for explaining to the masses here what pits will do and not do.

  16. sophylakes Says:

people who do this should be jailed for a very long time.. they are cowards and simply awful humans..

  17. Abby_Normal Says:

An owner of any breed/type of dog that gets out and attacks someone should be charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Its known any type of dog can kill.
Also, pit bulls are not trained to fight. All that crap you hear is just myths and here-say. APBTs bred for fighting (they are actually bred for their gameness, not fighting) cannot be forced to fight. They either will or will not. Matches were contracted months in advance and the dogs were put through a conditioning period to get them in the proper shape, and were matched against other APBTs of the same weight. All that “feeding gunpowder” bs is just that, bs. Those dogs are worth thousands of dollars. The old time dogmen wouldn’t threaten the health of one of their animals to “make it mean.” They are not near the threat to people as some would like you to believe, as dogs that were people aggressive were (and still are) put down. The dogs down from the fighting bloodlines are known by real canine experts to be one of the most stable breeds in existence. The problem pit bulls are not APBT but poorly bred mutts labled as pit bulls. Irresponsible owners of those mutts should be held accountable, like irresponsible owners of any breed, for their dogs actions.
If it were possible to tally up the number of attacks caused by actual gamebred APBTs it would be one of, if not the lowest breed on the bite list.

  18. Shepherdgirl Says:

Absolutely!!! If stiffer penalties were imposed on the owners it might put a stop to the problems with aggressive dogs.

    Great answer from SorrowLaughed25.
